 Are you ALIVE? I love SHOOTING PEOPLE with a camera, click.  I love wine, good music (I stay far away from the "Top 40"), great art and LIFE.  In fact, I love life so much that it compels me capture it professionally with a camera, but if you stick around you might catch me catching life with video and audio as well.

This brings me to the most important question that I have for you:  Are you ALIVE, not just breathing and eating, but LIVING?  

If you answered YES, we should talk, I want to capture it (your life that is).  If you're just an eater and breather, give LIVING a shot, we'll all be dead soon enough.

Matt + Kate = Married @ Cragun's Legacy Golf Course

Matt and Kate are a beautiful couple with beautiful friends and family.   You may recall their engagement session on my blog v2.0.

Matt and Kate's wedding was overwhelming with love, from Kate's friends helping her get ready and scrubbing with their Tide Stain Sticks to Matt's friends and their joyfulness to both Matt's and Kate's families singing at the wedding and the list could go on and on.

My day started with Kate at Cragun's Legacy Golf Course surrounded by her awesome friend.

After the ceremony Kate, Matt and I went around the golf course at Cragun's Legacy while their guests settled in to the cocktail hour and chipping contest.

Matt and Kate's band was The Casablanca Orchestra and they were completely awesome, I would HIGHLY recommend them.

Michael + Ali = Married!

The Brainerd Lakes Area is full of wonderful resorts and facilities for a destination wedding.  Friends and family end up with a mini vacation with a wedding in the middle; great for everybody.

Madden's resort is a perfect example of a Brainerd Lakes resort perfect for a wedding.  It has beautiful grounds, a great beach, an awesome lake, great golf nearby, good food, great service and unique "up-north" facilities; the list is endless.

Michael and Ali hail from Chicago, but the beauty and feel of the Brainerd Lakes drew them up here for their wedding.   Here are a few images from their day.

Erik and McKenna - Married!

Wedding season is full-tilt right now!  I just returned from the North Shore shooting a wedding and am leaving the tomorrow afternoon, so I am crazy busy in the office today.

I wish I had time to write more about Erik, McKenna and little Addison because they are great people and had an awesome wedding.  Since I don't have time to write, I'll let the images tell the story...

"What's the point of an After-Shoot?"

This is a question I get all of the time, and different photographers have a lot of different answers.   I can't answer for them as I am not them.

What I can tell you are my reasons for offering After-Shoot sessions and perhaps my reasons will help you determine if you would like to do one with me.

These are, by the way, in order of importance.
  1. Your wedding day can be even more your WEDDING day, not a photo shoot with a wedding in the middle.   I can't stress this enough, in fact, I just decided to make this reason 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5.   If you're getting married and the ceremony is the most important aspect of your wedding to you, call me.  I want to shoot your wedding!  In fact, call me right now.
  2. see #1.

  4. see #1.
  5. see #1.
  6. There's not enough time in your wedding day schedule for an adequate portrait time as a couple.  This very strongly relates to #1.  I want you to have the wedding day you want to have, not the one I think would be best for "pictures".
  7. There's a location significant to your relationship that is not involved in your wedding day.
  8. You love my portrait images.  This applies whether I photograph your wedding or not!
  9. You're afraid of getting a little dirty on your wedding day.  I never aim to ruin a dress, but it will get a little dirty in the process.
